Bishop’s Message on Founder’s Day 2024
Greetings from Bishop on ACS 138 Founder’s Day
To GOD BE THE GLORY for blessing the ACS family with another year in the School’s story on earth.
138 years is a long time, longer than any of us have lived.
Longer than most of us can even imagine!
Today I find it hard to comprehend how I enjoyed a daily bowl of fish ball noodles in ACS for only ten cents – and that was a mere 55 years ago!
So much has changed, and is changing everyday.
Things will change in ways that today we cannot yet imagine.
But today, I pray for some things that will not change.
I pray that it will always be true that ACS students will form friendships that will lastthroughout our lives on earth.
I pray that the ACS Story will continue to promote the Christian spirit which inspired William F Oldham, to found this school – a Christ-like spirit of love for God by loving our neighbours, regardless of mother tongue, racial roots or preferred religion.
I pray that the ACS Story will continue to take pride in the achievements of our students and teachers but without becoming proud and arrogant.
We say the story started in 1886, but we know that it started even earlier in the hearts and hopes of other persons working with Oldham.
Today we give thanks that their hopes and dreams of blessing children with a great and godly education has been fulfilled for 138 years.
Let no discord amongst us today ever sever the ACS story of ever-increasing blessing to more and more generations of boys and girls and their families.
To God Be The Glory.
The Best is Yet to Be!
